a rough concept

so i was bored and searching around on line and got this really neat (semi original) idea. i made a motorcycle tiger creature. its...a work in progress. but i wanted to show what the first idea looked like so that later when i present the fully colored render you could be like "wow...this came a long way " :D

for the people/person out there waiting on the edge of their seat for something new from me, BEHOLD!! the glory of nothing to do but draw!!! i would have colored them...but my tablet broke. im getting a new one tonight so all will be well soon enough :D in the mean time, enjoy the art that is tiger guy and cheetah...thing!!!

okay, so its not Halloween yet but hey, i dont know how often ill be able to update on here. :D anyways, i have graduated and am now living with a family friend while i put my portfolio together. lots of free time. i did that so i wouldnt be tied down by an apt lease so if anyone offered me a job i could take it. :P anyways, the cool thing about being here is the girls i get to share a room with. they have great imaginations, so they keep giving me grand ideas for sketches. the one i did last night was their doing. i asked them what i should draw and they said a chocolate eating monster who was a musketeer. so...here he is.

so i know the show was dumb, and the card game was addictive but childish, i still enjoyed pokemon. so i figured id give it a shot and draw them in my style. i figured it would be a fun way to unwind for the day. and it was. i enjoyed drawin the little boogers. my fav is probably bulbasaur. hes sad because he smooshed the flower. thats like he killed his cousin or something...

so...

graduation is close. real close. im trying to tighten up my style, but ive only got three weeks. or four...something like that. anywho, heres a drawing i recently did. like...tonight :D i was just lookin to practice my line weights. studying up on it via a graphic novel i just bought. great stuff :)

SIGGRAPH 2008

so siggraph was pretty much amazing. there were so many cool booths up to look at. i mean wow. the art institute booth had a really cool competition going called art wars. they had up the really cool wacom tablets that you could see your drawings on (the cintiqu i think...) for us to use during the competition. so the contest consisted of drawing for twenty minutes based around the topic presented. when i competed the theme was technology nightmare. i ended up winning the first heat, but the next time around in the final heat i lost. bad. but it was cool. the others i competed with were all really cool. they turned to eachother and complimented eachothers work. it was super cool. they were all really nice people. i ended up walking away with the adobe creative suite 3 design premium package, which was awesome.

on a side note, astroboy is going to be an amazing movie! it was so pretty! they only had one clip they were showing though, so dont hold me to it. as of now it looks great. it was really well animated.

anynoodle, i think im gonna head to bed. i just figured it was about time i updated my blog. ill add a drawing of some sort in here...ah! ill add the newest tiger guy design i did. good stuff! (kind of)

new coloring method

toying with a new type of coloring method. let me know what you think. that is if ANYONE still reads this stupid thing...:P
also, super excited about fatcat coming to my school thursday. even if i dont get a chance to talk to edison one on one, i cant wait to hear the lecture he has prepared for us. :3

well, ive finally gotten around to starting a blog up. here youll get to see my progression as i try and better myself as an artist. hopefully youll like what you see and youll be able to help me along my way. :)

for the first drawing im gonna post, its my lion guy ive been working on. its not as good as i had hoped it would be, but in comparison its alot closer to what kind of style im going for.
